Our idea
Almost every day we post a new deal for the best restaurants, day spas, hotels, merchandise, clutural events, servies etc. at a great price in a major German city. If a minimum number of "cooledeals" fans exercise their collective buying power (register and buy the deal), the deal is on! But be quick because the deal is online only for a limited period of time. So let your friends, family, colleagues, neighbors and anyone else you see on the street know about the deal!

About cooledeals GmbH i.G.
The Munich-based company developed the local community shopping platform, cooledeals.de, in late 2009. Since January 2010, initially in Munich and Hamburg, www.cooledeals.de offers a previously defined number of vouchers from local businesses at a unique and very attractive price to be sold in a specific timeframe. These deals become active, however, only upon reaching the clearly communicated minimum participation level. Currently 10 employees are working at cooledeals GmbH and are led by Managing Directors and Founders Thomas Bernik and Michael Stephan. The partner company audio media verlag GmbH is a sales and marketing specialist in Munich.
Founders and Managing Directors
Thomas Bernik, Economist and Entrepreneur
Thomas Bernik studied economics at the University of Constance and at Claremont McKenna College in Los Angeles. He began his career in 1998 in the Corporate Finance Division of the HypoVereinsbank in Munich. From 1999 until 2001 he served as Business Development Manager at GoingPublic Media AG in Wolfratshausen, where he, was responsible for the new media business development and, as one of the first employees, was significantly involved in the development of the company. In 2001 Thomas Bernik became CFO of inge AG in Greifenberg, a water purification technology company. He founded audio media verlag GmbH in January 2004, a sales and marketing specialist with headquarters in Munich. Since late 2009, Thomas Bernik serves as Co-Founder and Managing Director of cooledeals GmbH.
Michael Stephan, Lawyer and Entrepreneur
Michael Stephan, 40, began his career in the Internet sector in 1999 with a start-up company for broadband television. From 2000 to 2005, he worked at Holtzbrinck Ventures, the corporate venture capital company of the publishing company Georg v. Holtzbrinck and LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg). There he supervised exclusively new media companies such as Experteer, Game Duell and Parship. In 2005 and together with the Managing Director of Handelsblatt Online at that time, Michael Stephan founded an Internet portal for physician reviews, helpster.de, which he sold in 2007 to eLab (Holtzbrinck). Following subsequent work in the investment banking line of business, Michael Stephan is Co-Founder and Managing Director of cooldedeals GmbH since late 2009.
